IMPORTANT NOTE: It is ILLEGAL to harbour wildlife in Ontario. The rule is this : "all rehabilitated immature wildlife outside a rabies High Risk Area shall be released as close as possible to where it was found up to a maximum distance of 15 km. The maximum release distance for adult wildlife will remain at 1 km".

�NOTE OF CAUTION!!!!! If you are faced with no hope of help for the orphan and are willing to let your moral obligation over-ride your legal one, then know this: bringing these little ones up is not for the weak.. a HUGE amount of time and energy is needed along with $$$ to invest in it's care and feeding. Also know this... That cuddly baby WILL 'wild up', and you WILL be bitten, to the bone. If you feel you canNOT invest the time, $ or energy times 100 (because this is how overburdened and frustrated you will feel some days!)... I will try to help you and lead you to the individuals and agencies that may be able to help you.

� IF YOU FIND A BABY ---> SPEED IS OF THE ESSENCE. They dehydrate very quickly... Put the baby in a towel with warm bottle of water around it and either get the baby to someone who can help, or contact me to learn how to begin re-hydration.

“CHIP!” Squirrel exclaimed. “Just WHAT do you think you’re doing?!”

Chip jumped at the sound of Squirrel’s voice, causing him to drop the blueberries onto the spilled bag of flour covering the counter. 🫐🌾

“I-I-I…” Chip stammered as he slipped in the pile of flour. He quickly put up one little paw and continued, “I’m making muffins, since Rosie is so busy with the PTA at the little’s school!” 🧁

“You call THOSE muffins?” Squirrel scowled. 😳

“Like you always tell me…” Chip said, brushing some flour off his nose. “Practice makes perfect!” 😇🧁

🕯️ In Memory: September 11, 2001 🕯️🇺🇸🇨🇦

Today, the Squirrel-friends of Oshawa join Canadians everywhere in remembering the innocent lives lost in the United States on September 11, 2001.

We remember the families who lost loved ones, and all those whose lives were lost or forever changed that day.

We remember the Canadians who were among the victims, and the countless Canadians who answered the call to help, offering compassion, courage and support in the days that followed.

We stand together against terrorism and in support of our American neighbours. Canadians were there then, and if the United States ever needs us again, we will be there, just as we always have. 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸

May we never forget the lives behind the numbers, and may their memories continue to remind us of the importance of compassion, courage and peace. 🕊️

We remember. We honour. We will never forget. 🕯️
