I feel for the residents and visitors in Jalisco state in Mexico.

For any clients of mine who will be traveling to Mexico this winter and are concerned about potential cartel reprisals, I believe this particular cartel operates mainly in Jalisco and the west coast of Mexico, and I know I don't have any clients staying on that side of Mexico right now.

Cancun, Riviera Maya, and the entire state of Quintana Roo are more than 2,200 km away from the conflict. That said, I'll be monitoring Mexico's tourism boards. If any clients are affected, I will assist as best I can.

Canadians in : Violence and roadblocks are occurring in State. A shelter-in-place order is in effect in Puerto Vallarta. If you’re in Jalisco State, keep a low profile and follow advice of local authorities. More info:

Despite what the news has been saying, Cuba's tourism has still been running with no real restrictions.

The biggest problem they face at the moment is decreased visitation due to all of the bad press!

I've been seeing staggeringly low prices for vacation packages to Cuba. If you've been to Cuba before, or if you've never been but you're open-minded about visiting an affordable destination, now is the best time.

I've seen prices as low as $800 per person for a week stay this month, with many packages at $1000 per person. The Cuban people rely so much on tourism revenue for their economy. Let's help them keep their industry running this year!

More info on Cuba being shared by Sunwing. Cuba is open for business, and with prices for most destinations soaring high, it's worth considering that Cuban vacation packages are still very affordable!

I've had quite a few clients reach out over the past few weeks with concerns about traveling to Cuba and I wanted to share this message coming from the Cuba Tourist Board.

For any of my clients traveling within the US and intending to fly; this essentially doesn't affect you as long as you use your passport, which you should be doing if you entered the US from Canada!

Starting Feb. 1, 2026, air travellers in the U.S. without acceptable ID will be charged a $45 US ($62.50 Cdn) fee.

For those who missed it; this year I wanted to give something back to all of my amazing clients. From May through November, I offered the chance to win a $500 gift card by booking travel with me!

Each time a client booked with me, they were assigned a number. This morning, I entered those numbers into a random number generator. For privacy reasons, I have not revealed the identity of the winner, but as you can see, the gift card was ordered today and the client will receive it soon, if they haven't already.
