Congratulations to David Scarlatescu from Vernon, BC, who has been selected for the TELUS STORYHIVE Films: Three-Part Docuseries Edition to produce “Vernon: The Orchard City”!

Vernon’s fruit story is also a water story.

From the historic Grey Canal that helped bring water to early orchards, to the family farms, market vendors and u-pick fields still working the land today, this series explores the deep connection between water, agriculture and community.

“Vernon: The Orchard City” looks at how agriculture helped shape Vernon’s identity—and what it takes to keep its local food culture thriving for generations to come.

Congratulations, David! We’re excited to see this story of land, water, food and community come to life. 🎥✨

🌾 Pitch Video Spotlight!

Congratulations to Danielle Payne on being selected for the TELUS STORYHIVE Films: Three-Part Docuseries Edition! 🎉

Behind every meal on a Southern Alberta table is a woman who helped make it possible.

“Rooted - The Women Feeding Southern Alberta” is a three-part documentary series that follows three women—a farmer, a chef and a baker—as they share their stories and trace the invisible thread connecting open land to community table.

Through their experiences, the series explores the people, passion and labour behind the food we share—and asks a simple but powerful question:

What does it really mean to feed a place?

We can’t wait to see this project come to life. 🌱 Stay tuned for this incredible story!

We’re proud that TELUS has contributed more than $400 million to Canadian storytelling. Since 2013, more than $166 million of that investment has been delivered through TELUS Local Content, helping 4,700 creators share stories that reflect the communities, cultures and lived experiences that make our country so unique.

Today, we're unveiling refreshed logos for TELUS STORYHIVE, TELUS Originals and maCommunauté.

While our look is evolving, our purpose remains the same: supporting local creators and helping communities tell the stories that matter most. Together, our refreshed brands represent a stronger, more connected ecosystem built for the future of Canadian and Indigenous storytelling.

New look. Same commitment to local stories.
