Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining trailers. This role offers an opportunity to work with and ensuring safety and operational efficiency across our fleet. Candidates with dealership experience, heavy equipment operation skills, or expertise in electrical and welding work are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers, using hand tools, power tools
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safety compliance and optimal performance
• Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed for trailer frames or structural components
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, and mechanical failures efficiently
• Assist in the assembly or disassembly of trailer components during repairs or upgrades
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each service task
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
• Serving customers at the front counter taking payments and invoicing rental contracts
Requirements
• Proven mechanic experience with trailers, dealership experience is a plus
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation
• Class 5 license is required, must be able to move trailers in and out of parking spots around our yard and deliver within Winnipeg
• Strong communication skills in English
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Have own tools
