Is September already around the corner?
Here are our upcoming tours! Register soon as spots fill up fast.

We will kick off with the highly popular Geology Tour with local Steve Earle.

Back by demand is an end of summer Ravenskill Orchards - Home of Gabbie's Cider tour. One beverage is included in the price and you will get a tour around the orchard.

Finally, you will get a unique chance to visit the Islands Trust office for a show & tell about land use planning; topical issues; conservation efforts and ‘ask a planner’ anything. This tour will be followed by a walk led by GaLLT (Pending time and location).

As GERTIE wraps up our summer chartered tours, we are looking for more exciting opportunities to bring Gabriola life to the forefront of our Autumn Tours!

Do you have something special that you'd like to share with the community? We are looking for: music studios, pottery studios, mixed media studios, tiny houses & strange homes, someone to host an forest ecosystem walk, winter gardens, historic tour, coast Salish people discussion or anything else that comes to mind.

What's up next for GERTIE's summer events?
There is a SOLD out Geology tour which you can get on the waitlist for, a unique experience visiting Slow Rise Bakery and Tumbledown Farms to pet some miniature sheep.

End of summer/autumn we will kick off with one of our most popular tours: another Geology Tour led by local islander Steve Earle.

Have ideas for Autumn & Winter tours? Drop them in our comments below. Tours run 2-3hours generally on a Sunday and look to highlight some of the amazing sights and experiences on Gabriola. Ride GERTIE for a relaxed Garden Tour exploring three unique residential gardens, each reflecting a different vision of stewardship, creativity, and connection to the land. Guests will spend approximately 20–30 minutes at each stop, with time to hear each gardener’s story, ask questions, and enjoy the space.

The 3 stops include: Coho Drive, Rollo Road & Thompson Road – Willow Creek Farms. For more details on each farm, visit gertie.ca/events/

NEXT UP & newly added to the tour list is an exciting opportunity to visit Slow Rise Bakery & Tumbledown farms. If you like sourdough, cookies, scones & sheep - this tour is for you.

First stop will be a tour of the bakery and an opportunity to buy some freshly made goods (baked that morning), followed by a short bus ride down the road to meet some lovely sheep who will be looking forward to their head scratches.
