Bob was so supportive of recycling when he was my boss over at NDC! Really glad to see him running!

I know this is a bit of a political post but let me tell you why I feel compelled to share:
Bob Motion was my boss when I ran the recycling depot for Nak'azdli. He was amazingly supportive and I can still hear him say "it's the right thing to do" whenever we spoke about Recycling in FSJ. He has vast experience in many areas and has been a great asset in this community for years. I highly respect his honesty and open mind. If he doesn't have the knowledge in an area, he will seek those who do. No Ego. No Bu****it.
Him and I spearheaded the proposed changes to recycling within this town and approached the necessary governments. He got the ball rolling and trusted my opinion and experience (unfortunately things happened that were out of our control) but having him as Mayor would put some of that control in his hands and I am confident that green initiatives in this community would be supported and a top priority for him. I 100% support him and look forward to working with him again if he becomes our Mayor!
Please vote Bob Motion for mayor because he recognizes "the right thing to do," and I know great things will happen in this community because of it!

We didn't get enough members (business owners) who attended the one last week so I decided to re-schedule. PLEASE if you have been affected, as a business owner, by the current closure of the Integris Recycling Centre, come to this meeting! We all need to come together for this Co-op to work! this is a very community-oriented and cost effective solution for all, but if you don't show up then there will be no Co-op. Thank you everyone for your continued support. Don't hesitate to call me or text for more info or to answer any questions!
*to clarify, non-business owners are welcome to attend the meeting as well, or representatives (employees) of businesses*

Sorry for the short advertising but the Stuart Lake Recycling Co-op is now incorporated and negotiating an agreement with the Fort St James District to operate recycling services for ICI Cardboard and Paper out of the Integris Recycling Centre. Please join us at the First AGM!!

I have resurrected this business page!! I updated recycling things on the Nak'azdli Recycling Depot page for so long and then my FSJ Bottle Depot page but I'd like to start using this one again! I will update the info and all that as soon as I can :) Thank you for all your support over the years FSJ!

***EDIT**** MEETING TIME AND PLACE**** We will be discussing what a Co-op business model is and how it can be applied to the ICI Recycling here in FSJ. This is more of a discussion meeting so please don't feel like if you come you are 100% committed! Lets all just have a chat about saving this great service!

I have been made aware that our schedule was off! I apologize, this coming friday Nov 28th is Sowchea pick ups and Next Friday Dec 5th will be the Stones Bay & Area pick ups. Your pick ups haven't actually changed there was just a mistake on the schedule. Christmas schedule will be posted soon (and notices left in your bins) Thank you!

Dear In-town Customers,

Starting May 19th 2014 Multi Material British Columbia (a not-for-profit organization formed to develop a residential stewardship plan for packaging and printed paper) and the Nak’azdli Band of Fort St James will be launching a new recycling program. This program is very exciting for Fort St James, however, Imperative Recycling will no longer be doing the in-town residential pick-ups (anyone who has town garbage pick up is eligible for this new program). I apologize for the short notice but this had all happened quick and is out-of-my control.
Anyone who has already paid for June 2014 is eligible for a refund; please call me to arrange for that. Anyone’s account that is not up-to-date please pay until the end of May 2014 only.
The last day Imperative Recycling will be picking up your recycling is:
North of Nahounli Creek - May 13th 2014
South of Nahounli Creek - May 7th 2014
Stones Bay residents (if you have town garbage pick up that means you) - May 6th 2014

The first day Nak’azdli/MMBC will be picking up your recycling is:
North of Nahounli Creek & eligible Stones Bay - May 20th 2014
South of Nahounli Creek - May 21st 2014
Nak’azdli Reserve - May 22nd 2014

(this program will be continuing on your regular garbage day with the exception of the reserve, these days are not ‘set in stone’ yet so please check back with Nak’azdli or wait for your flyer in the mail to confirm)

This program is FREE of charge to all in-town residents of FSJ. For more information on recyclables accepted please go to http://recyclinginbc.ca/program/mmbc-materials-list/

As you can see they will be accepting PLASTICS! (which is awesome!) but do not accept some of the recyclables I have been taking for the past 3 years (such as light bulbs, batteries and ink cartridges) I may be developing a “one time pick up” for these items or you can bring them in yourself; please keep recycling them!

Nak’azdli will be supplying blue recycling bags until a more permanent bin system is in pace. There is no sorting necessary (* take note that some recyclables such as glass, styrofoam and plastic bags need to be brought to the recycling depot yourself)

I am happy to announce that I am the Supervisor of this new program with MMBC/Nak’azdli. I will still be doing rural and commercial pick-ups as Imperative Recycling but will be working with MMBC/Nak’azdli to ensure this new program is successful!
