I remember the first time I spotted a pileated woodpecker in our Edmonton river valley as a kid...I had to rub my eyes because I didn't think I was seeing it right. Just seemed so BIG and a bit "cartoony" compared to other birds hanging around the trees.😂... I probably wondered what would happen if I followed it....Would I fall into some strange wonderland or Narnia or the like? 😁

Well, friends. I've built up a bit of a collection of bird paintings over the last few years so I figured it's time to let them all be friends on one print. ☺️

Another favourite spring bird around here ❤️
The Northern flicker!
I once found a whole bunch of flicker feathers, likely signaling an unfortunate demise, but they were soo so beautiful. Bright orange and lined with purpley black. They're even more beautiful on the bird of course.

Probably my favourite little painting from 2019. In my mind, the woman has a baby strapped to her front (because that would have been me in 2019) but you just can't see him from this angle 😊
In any case, it's now available in the Etsy shop as an 8"x10" print and as an individual greeting card.
And all the people say "But Sarah, this isn't really seasonally appropriate anymore!"
But isn't it, though? Fellow ...I'm looking at you...😳❄️❄️❄️

Okay, so I have a number of older art projects that have been hanging around in storage for a long time. Some (like this one) are from my high school years. Almost all are oil or acrylic canvases. And I just figure, it's time to set them free. And letting pieces go always gives me more space and energy to keep creating. Wins all around!
