Air Canada's flight operations have restarted and ready to welcome their customers back. Please arrive at the airport no earlier than 3 hours before departure.

If you are scheduled to travel, please take the time to check the status of your flight online or on your Air Canada mobile app before heading to the airport.

FLEXIBLE REBOOKING POLICY and Cancellations

If you booked or prefer to book your own alternative transportation, you may be eligible exceptionally, due to the significant impact of the labour disruption, to a reimbursement of a reasonable fare on another airline within 5 days of your original departure date. If you had an Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge flight scheduled to depart between August 15 and 23, 2025 that was cancelled, and:

1️⃣ You received an email from Air Canada stating they were unable to book you, or you were offered alternative flight options that depart more than 5 days from your original departure.

2️⃣ You choose a flight in the same or lower cabin to your original flight.

3️⃣ Your flights are between the same origin and destination (including sister cities) with the same named customers. You can change connecting points or add/remove connections, as long as you choose a continuous journey.

4️⃣ You can also claim for alternate transportation options to get you between your original origin and destination (bus, get, car, etc.).

5️⃣ You must have booked the most reasonable and economical option(s) with your alternate travel, and ensuring that you reach your destination as soon as possible.

SPECIAL LABOUR DISRUPTION Policy for Out-of-Town Expenses

Air Canada is supporting customers who were disrupted while away from home with reasonable overnight expenses, such as hotels and meals. This is in addition to reimbursing other transportation costs under their Flexible Rebooking Policy where customers were unable to be rebooked by Air Canada.

Eligibility - Customers away from home whose Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge flights scheduled between August 15 and 23, 2025 were cancelled and who were as a result unable to return home.

All claims should be claimed through the Reimbursement Assistance - Labour Disruption page at https://accc-prod.microsoftcrmportals.com/en-CA/refund-assistance-labour-action/ and be supported by receipts and a brief explanation.

‼️ Air Canada Labour Negotiations Update

Air Canada has reached a mediated settlement with their flight attendants union. With this settlement, flights will restart this evening with a gradual ramp up over the coming days.

While the restart of operations will begin immediately, Air Canada expects it will take several days before operations return to normal. Please do not head to the airport unless you have a confirmed itinerary.

Customers who have purchased a travel package that includes an Air Canada flight prior to August 15, 2025, for travel dates between August 15 and August 22, 2025, can modify their booking without including change fees and rebook for an alternate travel date from August 23, 2025, onwards.

If you opt to keep your current booking and your flight is cancelled due to a labour disruption, Air Canada will attempt to rebook you on another flight, including those operated by another airline. However, available capacity on our airline and on other carriers is limited due to the summer travel peak, meaning the possibility of rebooking you within an acceptable timeframe is low. If your travel is disrupted, you can always choose a refund.

Customers will have the option to:

1️⃣ Change their travel date and benefit from a one-time $50 instant credit per passenger. Price is subject to change. To request this option, please call Air Canada at 1-877-752-7710.

2️⃣ Request a refund if their travel is disrupted starting August 16 to 21, using the Air Canada self-service tools to manage their booking.

3️⃣ Opt for a Future Travel Credit for the full amount, valid for 1 year (Instant credit not applicable). To request this option, please visit https://vacations.aircanada.com/en/contact-us

4️⃣ Customers at destination during the period of August 15 and August 22, 2025, may also request a return travel date change. Change fees for flight dates will be waived. Any expenses incurred locally, including hotel must be claimed through your travel insurance provider. To change your booking, please call Air Canada at 1-800-296-3408.
