Packing tip for your polar bear safari: don't forget your binoculars!

Any binoculars will do, but we recommend 10x42 for the best balance of magnification and brightness. An 8x32 set will work well too.

Polar bears are solitary animals. However, during the summer and fall, when they are off the sea ice on land, they will play fight with other bears to see how they will fare come mating season. That's about the closest polar bears get to friendship!

Happy International Day of Friendship 💕

Polar bears spend the warm months waiting. Waiting for the bay to freeze, for the ice to hold, for the hunting to begin again. Arctic Sea Ice Day marks the fragility of that wait and why witnessing it, even once, changes how you see the North.

Patriotism doesn't always look like flags and fireworks.

Sometimes it looks like a polar bear, quiet, enormous, built for conditions most of the world can't imagine surviving, let alone thriving in.

We didn't choose him as a symbol because he looks cute and cuddly. We chose him because he's exactly like the people who call this country home: tough enough to handle hard winters, kind enough to check on a neighbour.

Happy Canada Day. 🍁

This is what we celebrate today. Not just the country on a map but the places within it that take your breath away. The ones that remind you there is still so much wild left, if you know where to look.

The Khutzeymateen Inlet, British Columbia. Grizzly bear country. One of the most protected and pristine coastal sanctuaries in Canada.

We are lucky to live here. 🐻

The sun sets late tonight. Use the light well. 🌅

Summer solstice is our favourite reminder that the seasons are always turning. Right now the polar bears of Churchill are on the tundra, waiting. Patient, unhurried, perfectly tuned to rhythms that have nothing to do with our calendars.

Happy Summer Solstice. The natural world doesn't need a reason to be extraordinary.

Happy World Giraffe Day. 🦒

Six metres tall, silent as a shadow, and somehow more magnificent in person than anything you've imagined. There's a reason seeing a giraffe in the wild makes most people's bucket list.

We are excited to visit giraffes in Tanzania this coming January, have you booked your ticket yet? See you there!
