New rules for Göcek & Dalaman bays starting 2026.

Turkey is introducing an official DERIA buoy mooring system across the Göcek and Dalaman bays.

This system is designed to protect the seabed and reduce the damage caused by repeated anchoring in one of Türkiye’s most sensitive marine areas.

What will change:

• Buoy mooring system will be implemented in 17 bays
• Launch begins March 2026
• Full operation expected June 2026

Stay limitations will also apply:

• Maximum 3 consecutive days in the same bay
• Maximum 11 days total in the Göcek region

Pricing for the new system has not yet been announced and will likely depend on the length of the yacht.

Professional mooring teams will provide 24/7 operational support, reservation control and environmental supervision.

The goal is clear:
protect the marine ecosystem while keeping sailing in these bays sustainable for the future.

For charter planning in 2026 this means one thing —
routes will need to be planned more carefully.

Refueling is a mandatory step before returning the yacht.

The yacht must be returned with the same fuel level as when it was received.
In most cases — with a full tank.

Leaving the fuel stop for the last hour is a mistake.
On check-out day, queues often form at the fuel dock. Losing time there can affect the check-out procedure.

Minimum required actions:

— verify the correct fuel type,
— supervise the refueling personally,
— avoid any fuel overflow (penalties are inevitable),
— provide the logbook for the refueling entry,
— keep the receipt until the check-out is completed.

Ignoring these points can complicate the charter closing process.
