Due diligence obligations for batteries 🔋

The EU Batteries Regulation entered into force on 17 August 2023 and has been in effect since 18 February 2024. Its key requirements are being introduced in phases over the coming years.

The due diligence obligations for batteries have been postponed until 18 August 2027. However, the postponement does not reduce the preparation burden. Companies should start preparing well before this deadline, as the required independent third-party verification must be completed by then - not merely initiated.
