Trip Overview
The Meghalaya Trail is a carefully designed journey through the hills, waterfalls, valleys and villages of Meghalaya, covering Shillong, Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong and Dawki.
The journey will begin from Dhaka on the night of 25 September 2026. Participants will enter India through the Tamabil–Dawki Border and return to Bangladesh through the same border on 30 September.
Mawlynnong, widely recognised as one of Asia's cleanest villages, will be one of the highlights of the journey. The tour includes two nights at a 3-star standard hotel in Shillong and homestay experiences in both Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong.
Day 1 | 25 September
The Journey Begins: Dhaka to Sylhet
The journey will commence from Dhaka on the night of 25 September by AC Economy Bus.
The group will travel overnight towards Sylhet.

Day 2 | 26 September
Crossing Borders: Sylhet to Dawki to Shillong
Upon arrival in Sylhet, the group will proceed towards Tamabil by CNG or Microbus.
After completing immigration and border formalities, the group will enter India through the Tamabil–Dawki Border.
From Dawki, the group will continue towards Shillong. Subject to time and weather conditions, selected attractions around Dawki may be visited before proceeding to Shillong.

Day 3 | 27 September
The Soul of Shillong: Hills, Falls and Laitlum
After breakfast, the group will explore some of the most scenic attractions around Shillong.
Places to visit:
Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Laitlum Canyon, Selected viewpoints, Police Bazar.
The evening will be free for leisure and local exploration.
Overnight: Shillong, 3-star standard hotel
Day 4 | 28 September
Into the Clouds: Shillong to Cherrapunji
After breakfast, the group will depart for Cherrapunji, locally known as Sohra.
The day will be dedicated to exploring the spectacular landscapes and waterfalls of Cherrapunji.
Places to visit:
Mawkdok Dympep Valley, Wei Sawdong Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Other suitable viewpoints, subject to time and weather.

Day 5 | 29 September
The Cleanest Village: Cherrapunji to Mawlynnong and Dawki
After breakfast, the group will depart for Mawlynnong.
Mawlynnong is widely recognised as one of Asia's cleanest villages and is renowned for its cleanliness, natural surroundings and traditional village lifestyle.
Places to visit:
Mawlynnong Village, Riwai Living Root Bridge, Balancing Rock, Local village surroundings, Dawki Umngot River.
The evening will be spent experiencing the peaceful village environment.

Day 6 | 30 September
The Journey Home: Mawlynnong to Dawki to Dhaka
After breakfast, check-out from the Mawlynnong homestay around 11:00–12:00 noon.
The group will spend some time exploring nearby attractions before departing towards Dawki.
After visiting suitable spots around Dawki, the group will proceed towards Tamabil for immigration and border formalities.
From Tamabil, the group will travel to Sylhet by CNG or Microbus and board an AC Economy Bus for Dhaka.
The group is expected to arrive in Dhaka late on 30 September or in the early hours of 1 October.
Package Price
Standard Package ৳20,500 per person. Applicable for 4-person room sharing.
Couple Package ৳24,000 per person. Applicable for 2-person room sharing.
Children Below 3 years: Free of charge.
The child will stay and dine with the parents. 3–5 years: ৳10,000 per child.

Visa Information
Safar Expert will provide assistance throughout the Indian Tourist Visa application process.
For this tour, it is mandatory to have Tamabil–Dawki Border included as the intended entry point in the visa application.
Participants are advised to begin the visa process with sufficient time in hand. Starting the visa process at least one month before the travel date is recommended to minimise last-minute complications.
Participants must travel with the required visa and pay any applicable extra charges, if required.
Visa approval and issuance remain subject to the decision of the relevant authorities.
Booking and Payment Policy
A non-refundable payment of ৳10,000 per person is required to confirm the booking.
The remaining balance must be paid on or before the day of departure.
The initial confirmation payment is non-refundable as it will be used for advance arrangements and reservations related to the tour.
Important Terms and Conditions
Safar Expert reserves full discretion regarding operational decisions related to the tour, including itinerary adjustments, transportation arrangements, accommodation arrangements, sightseeing sequence, destination or spot changes and, where necessary, travel date adjustments.
Any change may be made considering weather conditions, road conditions, border regulations, local restrictions, safety considerations, accommodation or transportation availability or other circumstances beyond the control of Safar Expert.
In the event that the trip needs to be extended due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond the control of Safar Expert, additional costs arising from accommodation, transportation, food or other necessary arrangements may be charged to the participants.
The itinerary may be modified without compromising the overall nature and purpose of the tour.
Participants are required to carry valid passports, necessary travel documents and the required visa. All border and immigration procedures are subject to the rules and decisions of the relevant authorities.
Joining Points
Participants may join the group from Sylhet or Tamabil Border if they prefer.
In such cases, the applicable transportation cost for the unused portion of the Dhaka–Sylhet journey may be adjusted subject to prior confirmation and package arrangements.
Important Note
The itinerary is designed for a group of 12–16 participants. Room allocation, vehicle capacity and accommodation arrangements may be adjusted according to the final confirmed group size. The final sightseeing sequence may vary depending on weather, road conditions, local restrictions and operational requirements.
