On April 28, 2021, Silk Way West Airlines signed a strategic fleet expansion agreement with Boeing for the purchase of five state-of-the-art 777 Freighters.

Founded in 2012 in Baku, at the heart of the Silk Road, Silk Way West Airlines operates around 350 monthly flights across the globe via its fleet of 12 dedicated Boeing 747-8F and 747-400F aircraft based at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The airline's annual cargo turnover exceeds 500,000 tons, while its growing route network covers over 40 destinations across Europe, the CIS, the Middle East, Central and Eastern Asia, and the Americas. South Korea’s Incheon Airport honored Silk Way West Airlines with the prestigious ‘Cargo Airline of the Year 2020’ award.

We signed a digital partnership agreement with CargoAi , marking another important step in our ongoing digital transformation journey, at Air Cargo China 2026 in Shanghai. We are pleased to expand our cooperation with through a new multi-year agreement for cargo and freighter handling services at — one of Asia’s key aviation and logistics hubs.

We are marking 10 years of Silk Way West Airlines’ flights to Japan and would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our customers, partners and government officials who have supported us throughout this journey.

Since our first Baku–Komatsu flight in 2016, Japan has become an important part of our international network, with Kansai and Narita later joining our route map.

Over the past two decades, the company has continuously expanded its technical capabilities and infrastructure, strengthening its position in the aircraft maintenance sector across the Caucasus region and supporting safe and efficient aircraft operations for partners worldwide. Today, Silk Way Technics operates from a 26,000 m² hangar complex at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and is supported by a team of more than 600 certified specialists.

18 European bison were safely transported from (HHN) to Shahdag National Park (GYD), supporting an important biodiversity restoration initiative in Azerbaijan’s protected landscapes.

The initiative was led by the and implemented in close cooperation with and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as part of a broader wildlife conservation and reintroduction program. Such missions require careful planning, precision handling, and coordinated teamwork to ensure the highest standards of safety and animal welfare throughout the journey.
