Genova is one of Italy’s most underrated pre-cruise cities, and honestly, it’s a brilliant alternative to the usual “fly in and rush.”

Perfect for: food lovers, history, and travellers who like a more local Italian feel.

It has succeeded in preserving the charm of its typical historic artisan workshops and boutiques as only few other Italian cities managed to do, making them an essential part a visit. A guided tour of these shops in the typical Genoese narrow streets (caruggi) and small squares is a special and unique experience.

Pre-cruise planning is where most people lose time (and money). Transfers. Timing. Port logistics. Hotel location. Luggage. Dining.

🛫NEWS - Trevi Fountain fee!

Tourists in Rome will need to pay an entry fee to visit the Trevi Fountain, along with five other sites in the Italian capital, from 01 Feb. The €2 (A$3.50) fee aims to combat overtourism, and a cap of 400 people at a time will be enforced in the area around the fountain.

Entry fees will also be introduced at the Villa of Maxentius and several of Rome’s museums.
