A couple of weeks were spent on a Home Maintenance adventure across multiple farms, because who doesn't love a good game of 'fix everything'! I think every tool was used in the Chev, and possibly unloaded a few more screws ... all while enjoying the sunsets.

179 planks, measuring 4.2m in length and weighing approximately 17 kilograms each, were used.

The renovation project involved replacing worn-out boards with new Linear Boards. The north side installation was relatively straightforward, primarily involving lifting from ground level with a short scaffolding segment at the conclusion.

In contrast, the south side proved more labor-intensive, requiring ground-level work plus scaffolding at two heights, which made hoisting the planks into place a significant physical undertaking.

The scaffolding remains in place, and pending the completion of the painting phase, it will be showing a welcome conclusion to this project.

It's official ... after nearly 8 weeks of Nanny Pa duties, we're back on the road travelling.
We loved WA so much last year, and still so much to see and do ... so we're heading back. Should be in Norseman in just over a week! 😊

We've been extremely busy catching up on shredding business paperwork (like 10 years worth), and came across our very first official Invoice dated the 12th January 2010. Cannot believe we are now into our 17th year. Looking forward to hitting the road again in just over a week's time, heading back towards WA!

The last gig for the year was prepping a massive 30x6m shed. We cleared the old stuff, dug the footings and filled with concrete. But time to move on, so others will finish the job. Hopefully we'll swing by next year to see the finished product. For now it's time to chill, and celebrate Christmas with the family!

On arrival to this job, the roof, external walls, and sheet bracing were already completed. So then the task to turn this into a fabulous Granny Flat began.
Silver paper was used to line the external walls, and built an internal wall to separate the bathroom from the bedroom/kitchenette. Gyprocked all internal walls, cornice, and plaster square set the reveals on the windows. Installed the two doors and door jam. Then finally layed a timber look floating floor, and assembled cupboards for the kitchenette.
What a job which we've thoroughly enjoyed ... and now leaving jobs for the plumber, electrician, tiler and painter. Cannot wait to see photos of the final reveal!

There's nothing like a bush dunny with style ... certainly a big upgrade from the old, and love the use of the corrugated iron that's around 150 years old! 🚽 This was far from a crappy job. No spiders were harmed, however they were made to move on! 🕷
