Some people see a truck on the road and think about where it's going. What they don't see is everything happening behind the scenes to keep Australia's freight moving.

Every day, trucks deliver the food on supermarket shelves, stock to retailers, fuel to service stations, and the countless products we rely on in our daily lives.

The freight task across Australia continues to grow, with road transport remaining the backbone of the supply chain. Yet at the same time, transport businesses are facing increasing pressure from rising fuel prices, higher equipment costs, insurance premiums, compliance requirements and increased labour costs.

As a transport operator, there is far more involved than simply putting a driver behind the wheel and sending a truck down the road. Every day involves balancing customer expectations, maintenance, safety, compliance, cashflow and the unexpected challenges that come with operating heavy vehicles across Australia.

Every load delivered helps keep businesses operating, communities supplied and the economy moving, which is something many people don't think about until there's a disruption somewhere in the supply chain.

So I'm curious: What's something you've always wondered about the transport industry but never had anyone to ask?

Flashback to where it all began! The day we picked up our first truck, a 2012 T609 truck and quad dog. It was a special day filled with excitement and also trepidation.

It was also a day for me personally that was bitter-sweet, being that it was what would have been my Pop's 83rd birthday. A day that I wish he could have seen. It's funny how things work out sometimes, picking up your first truck on the birthday of the man who gave you your first taste of trucking so many years before.

This is where the dream turned into a reality. From day 1 I am extremely lucky to say that I have had my wife Nicole Louise by my side every step of the way.

Welcome to MINX Haulage!

My name is Mathew Egan and I started MINX Haulage in 2021 after spending years working as a driver in the transport industry.

Transport has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My Pop drove trucks, my Dad drove trucks and despite being told to stay away from the industry, I eventually found my way back to it.

Starting the business meant taking a leap of faith. Like many small business owners, we backed ourselves, put everything on the line and with the unwavering support of my amazing wife and kids, I got to work with my little truck and dog.

Today, MINX Haulage has a growing fleet and operates nationwide, specialising in the transport of bulk commodities, fertilisers, agricultural products and stock feeds.

We're not the biggest operator in the industry, and we're not trying to be. What we focus on is doing what we say we'll do, strong communication and building long-term relationships with customers who value reliability and competence over excuses to create efficient, effective, and hassle free transport solutions.

This page is where we'll be sharing life on the road, harvest updates, transport insights and the journey of continuing to build MINX Haulage.

Thanks for following along.
