If Paris Perfume Week is any indication for the year ahead, 2026 is going to be busy! This third event moved to the city’s Palais Brongniart, a significantly bigger space compared to previous Perfume Weeks.
11,500 individuals visited this year’s sold-out Perfume Week, a testament to the continually growing market and consumer interest in niche perfumery.
Retail buyers and distributors, journalists and content creators, key opinion leaders and industry experts attended from all parts of the world. Michael Edwards attended with Clayton Ilolahia, Danu Seith-Fyr and Karin Marin who visited the exhibitor stands to update Fragrances of the World’s database. Clayton, who has attended every Paris Perfume Week said, “You really got the sense that Paris is the beating heart of the industry. Everyone was there. It was the event you didn’t want to miss.” 180 exhibitors and industry partners, 50 conferences, 5 exhibition spaces contributed to the program.
The Colors, a consulting firm that specialises in the multicultural beauty market had a pavilion dedicated to diverse perfume brands coming from the Comoros Islands, Ghana and the USA. “There was a real sense of diversity in the assortment of exhibitors. The public who attended the event were also very diverse in terms of age, gender and ethnicity,” said Clayton. Similar to last year, Nez will host the Asia Perfume Show on 24-25 September at the Bastille Design Centre, once again spotlighting brands from China and across Asia.
Behind the Scent was a new feature of this year’s event. Designed as the first forum dedicated to careers and training in perfumery, this new initiative, supported by L’Oréal Group, brought together around twenty partners – oil houses, schools, manufacturers, and designers which showcased the various professions and learning pathways within our industry.
This year’s Perfume Week was the first time Paris has hosted a fragrance event of this size. More than a trade show, it was an example of French patrimony for its perfumery savoir-faire.
