I might not have a traditional shopfront, but that doesn’t mean I’ve disappeared!

I’m Ky Graham, your local home-based Personal Travel Manager with TravelManagers — a network of 500+ travel professionals across Australia.

I’ve been working in the travel industry for 15+ years, including the past 2.5 years with TravelManagers as my own business and many years before that working from a local shopfront here in Sale.

The best part of being home-based? Flexibility! 🙌🏽

You don’t have to come to a shopfront — I can come to you, we can chat over the phone or email, or we can meet at a local café and talk all things travel. ☕️✈️

While I’m proudly local to Sale, my clients aren’t limited to just Sale! I work with clients locally, across Melbourne and interstate — all from my home-based office.

‼️‼️‼️FIJI TOURIST SERVICES TAX UPDATE‼️‼️‼️

Some very welcome news regarding Fiji’s new Tourism Services Tax (TST)!

The Fijian Government has now confirmed that the 5% TST will only apply to new bookings made on or after 1 September 2026.

Importantly, bookings made before 1 September will NOT be subject to the tax, regardless of when you travel. 🎉

This is fantastic news and resolves the key concern around the tax being retrospectively applied to existing, including fully paid, bookings.

TravelManagers have been liaising closely with ATIA (Australian Travel Industry Association), who have been actively advocating on behalf of the Australian travel industry, so it’s pleasing to see the concerns raised by the broader tourism industry have been heard.

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service will issue updated guidance shortly, and I’ll keep an eye on this and let you know if there’s anything further you need to be aware of.

A sensible outcome for travellers and the industry. 🌴☀️

From an incredible network of 500+ Home-Based Personal Travel Managers, I was absolutely speechless to be nominated for not one, not two, but THREE awards at our 2026 TravelManagers Annual Conference Gala Awards Night🥹🏆

The nominations were for:
🌟 Engagement Award
This award recognises Personal Travel Managers who demonstrate a strong commitment to the TravelManagers network through active engagement. This includes their dedication to professional development, consistent attendance at events and national virtual training days, with tangible results from their participation. It's not just about showing up; it's about making meaningful contributions and driving positive outcomes.

🌟 Denise Dean Advocate Award
Judged by the Partnership team, for recognition at a local level as advocates of the brand within the travel industry. Always professional, and often out there promoting TravelManagers, these Personal Travel Managers have referred a number of new Personal Travel Managers into the business.

🌟 Most Improved Personal Travel Manager
For Personal Travel Managers on their second contract or greater. Awarded to Personal Travel Managers with the greatest percentage increase in commissions and dollar value in each state from financial years of 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 and 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026.

While unfortunately I was the bridesmaid and not the bride 😂 and didn’t take home a win, I am genuinely so incredibly proud and stoked to have even been nominated! 🥹✨To be nominated amongst such an amazing pool of experienced and talented industry colleagues is an achievement in itself, and one I’m incredibly grateful for.

TravelManagers Annual Conference 2026 was held in beautiful Hobart, Tasmania, from 18–20 August — and this year’s theme was 'Connection'.

I made some new connections and strengthened some great existing ones! ️ The laughs (and the good tears!) were certainly plentiful.

This is my third TravelManagers conference, and it’s something I genuinely look forward to every year. It’s a chance to reconnect with my interstate friends and colleagues, connect with new ones, share experiences, learn from each other and expand my knowledge.

Thank you to Cornerstone Events for managing and organising such a seamless event for hundreds of delegates, and to the TravelManagers National Partnership Office and my fellow Personal Travel Managers for making it such a memorable few days.

Thank you to Jordana Borensztajn for keeping us entertained and the conference running smoothly as our fabulous MC! 🎤👏

‼️‼️‼️Fiji Travel Update ‼️‼️‼️

If you’re travelling to Fiji from 1 September 2026, there’s an important update to be aware of.

The Fiji Government is introducing a 5% Tourism Services Tax (TST) on qualifying tourism services for an initial 12-month period.

👉 The tax is based on when your holiday services are provided, not when you booked or paid. This means existing and new bookings travelling from 1 September 2026 may be affected.
This is a government-mandated tax, not an additional fee introduced by your resort, transfer operator or travel agent.

The final details are still being confirmed, and TravelManagers are actively working with suppliers to understand exactly how the tax will apply to each booking.
If you have a Fiji holiday booked from September 2026 onwards, I’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available. 🌴☀️

It's a fair question.

The reality is, we CAN do lots of things ourselves—but that doesn't always make it the best use of our time, or guarantee the best outcome.

Think about everyday life...
🚗 Servicing your car – You could watch a few YouTube videos and change your own oil or brake pads, but most people trust a qualified mechanic to keep their vehicle safe and running properly.
🧾 Tax returns – You can lodge your own tax return online, but many people use an accountant to maximise deductions, ensure everything is correct and save time.
🏠 Selling a home – You can sell privately, but many people choose a real estate agent for their market knowledge, negotiation skills and marketing expertise.
🏋️ You can exercise for free in your backyard or local park, but personal trainers and gyms exist because expert guidance helps people achieve better results.
