Moving home with children? Hereā€™s one simple tip that can make a huge difference:

Pack their bedroom last and unpack it first.

Children cope better when they have familiar things around them for as long as possible. Keep their favourite toys, bedding, books and comfort items out until close to moving day, then make their room one of the first spaces you set up in the new home.

A few extra tips:
ā€¢ Create a first-night bag with pyjamas, toothbrush, favourite toy, snacks and a change of clothes
ā€¢ Let them decorate or pack one special box
ā€¢ Keep snacks and water close on moving day
ā€¢ Set up their bed early so the new house feels familiar

I serendipitously ran into the wonderful .by.bethf yesterday.

team were unpacking a house, she was chatting to her neighbour across the road. I work with this fabulous human in our other roles at Virgin Australia. Small world moment.

I was lucky enough to score a warm Biscoff biscuit straight from the oven and got to meet the famous Pretzel, her very adorable sidekick.

Do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and order in the New Year.
