A customer swapped flights for a 4x4 and turned the drive into the destination. Pinnacles at dawn, Hutt Lagoon's pink water, Kalbarri cliffs, then Monkey Mia and Lancelin on the way home.

The rooftop tent and recovery gear did their job. Ours was just to hand over the keys and point them north.

We originally planned to visit Western Australia to swim with whale sharks in Ningaloo and had considered flying up to Exmouth. After looking into the route, we realised we could turn the journey itself into part of the adventure by driving north from Perth. Hiring a 4x4 camper felt like the best and most enjoyable way to properly see Western Australia, rather than simply flying over it.

Before booking, we compared a lot of different 4x4 rental providers, and Adventure West stood out as offering the most capable vehicles at the best price point. There were cheaper alternatives available, but when we looked properly at what was included and the overall quality of the setup, Adventure West offered far better value for money.

We hired the Single Roof Top Tent 2 Person 4X4 Camper for a Perth to Exmouth road trip, stopping at places like the Pinnacles, Hutt Lagoon, Kalbarri and the Coral Coast on the way up, then Monkey Mia and the Lancelin sand dunes on the way back.

The vehicle was comfortable, capable and really well set up for remote travel and camping. The rooftop tent, fridge, cooking gear and safety/recovery equipment made the trip much easier and gave us confidence when heading into more remote areas.

The team were also excellent throughout. They were helpful, easy to deal with, and gave us a clear handover so we knew exactly how everything worked before setting off.

I would definitely recommend Adventure West to anyone planning a self-drive 4x4 trip around Western Australia.
