Last Friday the 29th May, Shannon and Shona from the Rio Tinto Indigenous Employment Team attended the McGovern Foundation 1000 driver license achievement celebration event. The McGovern foundation began in July 2021 and have supported 1000 Drivers licenses, 39,195 mentored driving hours, 80% employment outcomes and $59,187 fines cleared. Rio Tinto are a proud partner with The McGovern Foundation.

🎓 2026 School Work Experience Program – Applications Now Open!

Looking to give local high school students a real taste of working life? Applications are now open for the 2026 School Work Experience Program, with opportunities available across our Inland and Coastal operations.

This two‑week program (6–17 July) gives students the chance to experience Rio Tinto and explore a range of career pathways — from engineering and electrical to health & safety and operations.

👷 Roles available include: Administration | Engineering | Electrical | Fixed Plant | Mechanical | Cranes & Belts | Light Vehicles and more

✅ Who can apply?
Year 11 or 12 students
16 years or older by 6 July
Available for the full program
Living in or near Paraburdoo, Tom Price, Dampier, Karratha, Pannawonica, Port Hedland, Point Samson, Roebourne or Wickham
