We appreciate you supporting our efforts to renovate them! Consider a "real" Alaskan abode on your grand adventure! We are tucked in next to the 25+ kilometers of lighted multi-use ski trails of Chugiak High school. We have called this area home for over 40 years, and we are a fifteen minute drive from the city of Anchorage which is the biggest city in Alaska. It is an area with verdant boreal forest with gorgeous flora and fauna. It is a great place to be away from the urban hustle and bustle! If you stay with us please keep in mind that these are rustic “Alaskan” one-of-a-kind dwellings on the “Edge Of The Wild”! You get rustic beauty, a unique abode, and a quiet nights rest! Our Bus’s are a work in progress, and we appreciate you staying with us and being part of our continued efforts towards renovating them and making them better. Please leave the white gloves at home, but enjoy your stay! This is a family friendly neighborhood! Please, No Smoking, Excessive Drinking, or Party Animals! No WIFI at this time, but check back with us! The Bears Den
Our 1963 Blue Bird bus was originally driven up from upstate New York as a postal bus. We fell in love with it at first sight, and It has to be seen to be believed! Uniquely retro, with gorgeous woodworking and a nautical vibe, we are trying to restore it to its full glory. It is a safe and comfortable spot to call home for a few nights. It has two single “berths” and one larger sleeping “nest” up above. There is a cooking area and sink where you will find many of the comforts of home, including a microwave, electric burners, toaster, and a small refrigerator. In the tradition of many Alaskan dwellings, this is a “dry” bus, and water will be provided for cooking and cleaning. Enjoy the antique wood stove and couch area, where there is a small electric heater available as well. Our indoor “privy” is one of a kind and is available at the back of the bus, but there is no bath or shower at this time. You can walk down the road to the Chugiak High school Pool during open hours, and there are also shower facilities up the road about 3 miles.

The Wild Blue Yonder
Our 22ft shuttle bus was originally used as a shuttle bus on the campus at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. It is getting a new lease on life as a quaint and whimsical tiny home for one (or two if you really like each other ). Three if you don't mind tripping over each other :-)
With an open view of the trails out the windows into the woods across the way, it is a fun spot. A microwave, toaster, and refrigerator are available as well as electric heat and lights. It boasts a small hand-built couch and bunk area, and has a private marine toilet in the back. It is a super cozy and fun place to call home for a few nights. This is a dry cabin, and water will be provided. With outdoor seating space and plenty of parking you can enjoy being up close and personal with the woods outside your door! Our buses are works in progress but ready for some fun! We appreciate your support of our renovations and remodeling efforts!
