🏝️ May 2027 Rottnest bookings open tomorrow

Stay Rottnest bookings for May 2027 open at 8:30am AWST tomorrow, Wednesday 2 September.

A few useful things to know before Open Day:

✅ The online waiting room opens from 6:00am
✅ Joining early does not give you a better queue position. Anyone in before 8:30am is randomised
✅ You’ll need a real mobile number for the new one-time SMS passcode
✅ Have a few accommodation/location options ready, not just one
✅ Once you’re selected from the queue, you have 30 minutes to enter the booking site
✅ Bathurst is unavailable for May due to planned works, so make sure you have alternatives in mind

May is a great time for Rotto if you like cooler weather, cycling, walking and a slightly more relaxed feel than peak summer.

And if you miss out tomorrow, don’t panic. Cancellations and extra availability do pop up later.

🏝️ April 2027 Rottnest bookings open this Wednesday!

Planning a Rottnest Island getaway next autumn?

Stay Rottnest accommodation for April 2027 opens at 8:30 am AWST this Wednesday, 5 August 2026.

The virtual waiting room opens from 6:00 am. Everyone who joins before 8:30 am is randomly allocated a queue position, so there is no advantage to logging in at 6:00 am instead of closer to the opening time.

📅 Dates expected to be especially busy

The WA school holidays run from 10 to 25 April 2027, followed by the ANZAC Day public holiday on Monday, 26 April.

During the school holiday period, many properties will also use fixed booking blocks of around four to seven nights. The Campground, Kingstown Dormitories, Hostel Family Rooms and Governor Circle may have a minimum three-night stay.

Make sure you prepare:

✓ Your preferred dates
✓ A few backup date options
✓ Several preferred accommodation areas
✓ Your required bedrooms and beds
✓ Your payment details

April is a brilliant time to visit Wadjemup, with milder weather for cycling and walking, while many days are still warm enough to enjoy the beaches and bays.

There is also currently a 14-day cooling-off period for new bookings, provided you cancel within 14 days and there are still more than 30 days before arrival.

Already searching for January, February or March 2027? These months are already extremely busy, but cancellations do appear.
