That Bearded Bloke - Perth Handyman Temporarily Closed

That Bearded Bloke is here to help you with a little bit of everything; tree pruning, tip runs, large deliveries, manual labour, tree & stump removals, furniture moves/assembly and much much more. Let me enable your online spending by delivering that 7 piece outdoor setting that you scored off marketplace for a steal but cant possible fit in your x-trail. I have no problem sneaking that heavy pizz

a oven past your partner, removing that half dead tree in your yard, cleaning your overflowing gutters or assembling that flat pack furniture from an unnamed swedish seller.

You know when you pull a bunch of Yucca's and forget to take the after photos??? Yeah I did that...πŸ˜‚

Stage 2 is pulling removing shade sail posts with a jackhammer so I can get some photos then.

Got some Yucca's making you mad? Or maybe some some agaves making you sad? Call That Bearded Bloke, when it's gone you'll be glad 😊

Ooft, that one can go in the bin πŸ—‘οΈ

About as much variety as you can fit into a week! . Pulling stumps by hand and Hilux, photo mulching, garden house party prep, hedge wrangling, a few hose reel installations and plenty of pressure washing... Oh and a Friday evening piano move!

The crazy season is officially upon us. I will likely be working every day until Christmas, then the gap to new years so let me know what you need done and I will do my best to fit you in.

Yeah that one tested me. 36 degree day pulling these bad boys by hand, restricted by a rosebush at one end, a pool fence at the other, a colour bond fence and a small retaining wall.

Throw in the mystery of where the pool piping was situated - circumstances were not ideal

Thankfully no pool pipes were found, but what I did find was roughly 4 of the most compacted Yucca's welded to eachother that they might as well have been one enormous a**hole of a plant.

6 hours later, 6 litres of water consumed, 9.5kg's of bodyweight lost, 2x recip blades toasted and a chainsaw stretched further than your wallet when faced with buying both olive oil AND cheese in the same week and it was out.

The client even fixed me up with an icy pole and a Powerade afterwards 🀠. Not sure it did much for the heatstroke but it was certainly a nice gesture.

Pwoar! Nothing like a nice 33+ day to remind me that fridge season is upon us.

Fridge season you say? Yes, fridge season. If your fridge is going to cark it, it's most likely to give up the ghost between November and January. There has definitely been an uptick in fridge deliveries recently.

Last year I did over 30 fridge moves/deliveries in December alone. The simple reason being that none of the big retailers do same day or even a 48 hour delivery, meaning you lose all the delicious food in your fridge (and the beer gets warm... Outrageous)

I actually know someone who had so much gourmet produce in their fridge that they lodged an insurance claim to cover it πŸ˜‚

If your fridge gives you the final "yeahnah" be sure to give me a call or SMS. The tail lift makes this nice and easy and I can even get rid of your old fridge for you with your tip pass.

Stay cool people 😎

A client needed a commercial development block cleaned up yesterday. I had this grand plan of taking 2 identical drone shots which ultimately failed in the most unexpected of ways. At no point did I think that this would be the most difficult or entertaining part of the job.

Clearing these weeds that in many spots were as tall as myself had a few challenges; I fell in a few holes, upset a few rats, annoyed (hopefully) a single snake who decided to go sun himself elsewhere whilst also uncovering a bit of illegally dumped asbestos. But the biggest challenges came from trying to get a second photo as the drone was ambushed by furious crows.

All the flight assists were quickly disengaged and the good people at the cafe across the road were treated to a high speed aerial dogfight between a drone and half a dozen angry crows hell bent on taking it down; the sort of dogfight that can only come from decades of frothing over Top Gun and its long awaited sequel, just with way less budget, skill, finesse and 80's tongue.

After surviving the initial ambush and multiple follow up attacks, I eventually lead the murder of crows (perhaps the most badass AND fitting collective noun of all time) away from the site then doubled back at maximum speed to take the second photo, hit the deck at max speed and give it stick back to the ute before the crows could assemble to have another crack at it.

The height of the photo itself obviously isn't perfect but you know what - it'll do have to do...

If it happens again I might even have the presence of mind to switch to video and dub some Kenny Loggins over the top of it.

Anyone for some beers and Top Gun?

Pulling these beasts with a vehicle is one thing, but when you cant get access and need to go manual, things can escalate pretty quickly.

After taking to it with a 22" chainsaw, a pick axe and a 1800mm wrecking bar, this 680kg (and that was just the stump) came out in about 5 pieces each of which still outweighed me.

I was feeling incredibly happy with my efforts until i remembered i still had to get them all the way down the driveway, onto the truck, to the tip, off the truck and then deal with the rest of the tree and the 20 gazillion agave plants 😐

Another day, another poorly placed Yucca! This time on the edge of a fibreglass spa with pool piping in the vicinity... What could go wrong? πŸ˜‚

Thankfully nothing on this occasion - phew

This behemoth weighed in at 365kg and apart from the branchwork had to come out in 8 chunks of juicy yucca stump leaving me covered head to toe in yucca juice. Delicious

Another successful local Gwelup Yucca stump-ectomy. Feels like everyone wants these pulled at the moment which I am very much enjoying.

This customer is pretty happy they dont have to look at the stupid thing every time they leave the house anymore.

Apologies for the safety thongs in the photo - I was very much steel capped up at the time 🀠

A truly satisfying vine removal for this client off the garden shed.
