Unpopular opinion: Companies should ban their team members from writing important ideas with AI ... let me explain šŸ‘‡šŸ¾

This week I read a Nature journal editorial titled "Writing is thinking."

One of the most prestigious scientific journals on earth arguing that outsourcing writing to AI may "deprive us of the opportunity to reflect on our field and engage in the creative, essential task of shaping research findings."

I believe (very strongly) that clear writing is just the output of clear thinking.

The issue is, we're all now being tempted by AI to outsource our writing - and therefore our thinking - to chatgpt.

I deeply believe that the smartest companies, people, founders of the next decade will be the ones where the people still write their own words.

Where people wrestle with hard problems until they understand them and where the increasing discomfort of the blank page is treated as a valuable opportunity.

It tends to be the case that when everyone takes the easy path, the value of taking the harder path increases.

It also tends to be the case that those who opt for an easier more convenient life in the near term, tend to have a harder life in the long term.

And besides, good AI prompting requires understanding the problem at a level that only comes from wrestling with it yourself first. You can't shortcut your way to good questions, and the world we're heading into is going to be won by those who know which question is most important...

Your ideas are only as good as your thinking.

Your thinking is only as good as your writing.

Don't stop writing.

Are you or someone you know, navigating the uncertainty of a learning environment?
This morning Mind Movers attended a training by Joe Pane as part of his Emotional Fitness Program and as a result we have some insights in relation to the world of Learning that we thought we'd share here!
Joe discussed the 7 Symptoms of Faulty Thinking and that they portray themselves as problems, disguised as symptoms!
For eg. we often notice someone we believe is a very capable learner, who is not able to navigate the mental blocks in their own minds in order to successfully navigate the challenge.

Mind Movers Coaching is about reconnecting the client to misplaced resources. Ensuring access to the innate skillset that is so often hidden beneath the mental noise that literally handbrakes our learning!

When have you come up against a learning roadblock that you never dreamed you'd overcome? Was it at school? As a parent? A trainer or leader?

There are many roads to navigating these times with clarity and confidence! And unlocking the 7 symptomes of faulty thinking is like a super highway! šŸ‘Œ

Louisa Nicola on The Diary of a CEO
Avoiding challenges reduces life expectancy!
This interview is a keeper for Mind Movers!! Another one from DOAC šŸ‘ŒSo much gold in this for every person and here's a snippet...
A super ager is someone who is ageing well biologically so…
- Low cardiovascular disease state
- Maintained Cognitive functions
- They’re 80 or 90yo with a Vo2max profile of 50 or 60yo
- Have Larger Anteria mid-cingulate cortex (AMCC)
The mid cingulate cortex (AMCC) is a crucial brain region involved in cognitive processing, pain perception, and emotional regulation, acting as a hub for integrating various brain functions.
AMCC shrinks in people who live sedentary lives or avoid challenges
It literally atrophies if you play it safe too much in life too often
Growth only occurs during resistance

If you love ice baths, you take one…you’re AMCC doesn’t change…if you hate the cold but force yourself to do it anyway, your AMCC grows
Scientists now say the MCC has the seat of the will to live
Size and activity level are strong predictors in how long an individual will survive after a major set back in life…health, surgery etc
It grows the moment you start a challenging activity/diet
Its that word challenging!!

Everything is cause and effect and it’s a cycle
You don’t do the hard thing you don’t grow the MCC, you don’t grow the MCC you don’t do the hard thing again
So What’s your regular mental, emotional and/or physical challenge? Key take aways from the interview...
1. a) Colour vs word challenge
b) Tennis ball to the wall - alternating hands, eyepatch, legs
2. Heart Rate interval training
3. Resistance training
Share in the comments for support😊

activities (eg. tennis ball on a wall) but do yourself a favor and watch the whole interview, it won't disappoint! WHEN YOU GIVE UP ON YOUR PROMISES TO YOURSELF OR YOU DON'T DO HARD THINGS YOUR amcc SRINKS

Dr Lisa Fieldman Barrett is a Professor of Psychology and in the top 0.1% of cited scientists in the field of psychology.

In a 2hr plus interview with Steven Bartlet on his pod cast, Diary of a CEO, Dr Barrett discusses 10 misconceptions we have about or Brain and how it works.
Here is a summary Mind Movers thought you’d love….
1. Your brain guesses before it sees
2. Emotions are built – not automatic – and their built with your thoughts
3. Your brain fakes trauma sometime and mislabels as dangerous (when it’s often just uncomfortable)
4. Anxiety is a prediction error – the brain predicting something bad is going to happen and body reacts as though it happened already
5. Control your body to calm your mind – our brain moves our body with signals…move your body to signal your brain eg. calm breathing
6. Concepts shape what you feel – language creats your reality
7. Rest is essential for good decisions – notice when youre drained and hold off big decisions
8. You can rewire how you feel – start small, expose & rescript your self-talk
9. Your brain doesn’t care about truth! It’s wired to stay safe/alive.
10. Naming it helps you tame it. Is it awful or just uncomfortable? Choose the name consciously.
