Exploring Vũng Tàu

The last few days exploring Vũng Tàu have been a great reminder that sometimes the best travel experiences come from simply slowing down and taking in the atmosphere.

Vũng Tàu has a relaxed coastal vibe with plenty of great places to eat, enjoy a cold drink, and watch the world go by. Whether you’re wandering along the waterfront, discovering local restaurants, or finding a quiet spot to unwind, there’s always something to appreciate.

The weather certainly made itself known! The heat and humidity were intense at times, making sightseeing a bit of a challenge, but that’s all part of travelling through tropical Vietnam. We were also treated to a few impressive thunderstorms that rolled through, bringing dramatic skies, heavy rain, and a welcome break from the heat.

Of course, one of the highlights was the food. We found some fantastic places to eat over the past few days, enjoyed some refreshing drinks, and met plenty of friendly people along the way. It’s those simple moments that often become the best memories.

As we leave Vũng Tàu behind and continue our journey, it’s another destination we’ll look back on fondly. Every place has its own personality, and Vũng Tàu definitely delivered a memorable mix of beach life, great food, tropical weather, and genuine hospitality.

Back at Our Happy Place!

Arriving at Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach feels a bit like coming home. From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of calm that washes over you, and it’s easy to remember why we wanted to come back.

The resort has such a welcoming atmosphere, with beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, and that unmistakable holiday feeling that starts the minute you walk through the doors. After our last visit, we knew this was a place worth returning to, and it’s just as impressive as we remembered.

Now it’s time to settle in, relax, and make the most of the next few days. We can’t wait to enjoy everything the resort and the Hồ Tràm coastline have to offer once again.

Another Great Find in Da Nang – Country BBQ

One of the best parts of travelling is stumbling across places that satisfy a craving you didn’t even realise you had. After spending the day wandering around Da Nang, taking in the sights and soaking up the atmosphere, we decided to stop in at Country BBQ.

For anyone missing a taste of traditional BBQ while travelling, this place is definitely worth checking out. The pulled pork was tender and packed with flavour, the spare ribs were cooked beautifully, and the chicken and pork sausage rounded out a fantastic meal. What really stood out was the range of sauces available, each bringing something different to the table and making it easy to customise every bite.

The venue had a lively atmosphere and was clearly popular with both locals and visitors. The only downside during our visit was that the music was a little louder than we would have preferred, making conversation a bit challenging at times. It certainly added energy to the venue, but a slightly lower volume would have made the experience even more enjoyable.

That said, the quality of the food more than made up for it. If you’re exploring Da Nang and looking for a break from seafood or local cuisine, Country BBQ offers a hearty, satisfying meal that hits the spot.

While exploring the streets of Da Nang, I stumbled across what can only be described as one of the best barber experiences I’ve ever had at Soldier Barbershop.

What started as a simple haircut turned into a full 90-minute experience that included a precision haircut, traditional shave, relaxing head wash, and invigorating scalp scrub. From the moment I walked through the door, the team made me feel welcome, valued, and completely looked after.

A special mention goes to Harry, whose skill, professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding. He took his time, ensured every aspect of the service was perfect, and genuinely made the experience feel personal rather than rushed. It’s rare to find a barber who combines technical expertise with such exceptional customer service, but Harry certainly delivered on both.

The atmosphere throughout the shop was relaxed and professional, and it was clear that the staff take great pride in what they do. Every step of the service was carefully executed, creating an experience that felt more like a premium grooming retreat than a standard barber visit.

If you’re visiting Da Nang and looking for a quality haircut, shave, or simply want to treat yourself to a first-class grooming experience, Soldier Barbershop should be at the top of your list. Another day of adventure along the beautiful beachfront of Da Nang led us to yet another hidden gem. After spending the day wandering the coastal streets, taking in the ocean views, and exploring the vibrant beach district, we were ready to find a place to relax, enjoy a meal, and watch the evening unfold.

That’s when we found Herbal Pizza & Steak.

Located in the heart of the beach area, this welcoming restaurant was the perfect place to escape the heat and recharge after a day of exploring. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it easy to settle in with a cold drink and soak up the energy of the surrounding neighbourhood.

The food was fantastic, offering a great selection of dishes that catered to every appetite, while the drinks menu provided the perfect accompaniment to a warm Da Nang evening. Whether you’re stopping in for dinner or simply looking for a comfortable place to enjoy a few drinks, Herbal Pizza & Steak is well worth a visit.

What truly elevated the experience was the outstanding service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always nearby when needed without ever being intrusive. A special thank you goes to Ngoc, who looked after us throughout the evening. Today was all about slowing down and taking in the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of Da Nang.

We spent the day wandering the streets, exploring the local neighbourhoods, discovering hidden cafés, and soaking up the energy of this vibrant coastal city. One of the things that stands out most about Da Nang is how easy it is to find something interesting around every corner. Whether you’re looking for a cold drink, a great meal, live music, or simply a place to sit and watch the world go by, there’s no shortage of options.

The area we’re staying in has been fantastic, with bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and local businesses in just about every direction you look. It’s the kind of place where you can set out without a plan and still end up having a great day.

One thing that has been noticeably different from our last visit is the temperature. The heat and humidity have been significantly higher this time around, making it much more challenging to navigate the area on foot. Even short walks between destinations quickly turn into sweaty adventures, and staying hydrated has become a priority. While the weather adds an extra layer of difficulty, it certainly hasn’t taken away from the beauty and charm that Da Nang has to offer.

From bustling streets and friendly locals to great food and beautiful scenery, Da Nang continues to impress us with its welcoming atmosphere and endless opportunities to explore.

Every day here seems to bring a new discovery, and that’s one of the things that makes travel so rewarding.
