One of the lovely parts of what I do as a travel agent is getting to help people turn their travel dreams into reality, and it’s even better when I get to see the photos afterwards and can share them with you all ! 🤍

Tina and Pete, who many of you will know as the wonderful owners of the beach cabins here in Merimbula, recently headed off on an incredible adventure to the Dolomites in northern Italy — and just look at these views ! ⛰️

They took on a 5-day self-guided hiking adventure, walking through some of the most spectacular scenery the Dolomites have to offer. Think dramatic limestone peaks, alpine meadows, beautiful valleys and fresh air with those incredible mountain views.
They also got to experience the local architecture, cuisine, and traditions.

Their trip was based around Cortina d’Ampezzo, with a choice of easier or more challenging walks each day depending on your preference, staying in beautiful character hotels along the way. And with luggage transfers taken care of and a navigation app provided, you don’t have to worry about anything and just enjoy the beauty of this place.

I love that this style of trip gives you the freedom and adventure of a self-guided hike, without having to organise all the little details yourself.

Meet the real boss of my home office… and his trusty sidekick! 🐾🧸

As most of you already know, this is Louie — my much-loved, slightly attention-seeking assistant! ❤️

You’ll usually find him keeping me company on the sofa while I’m busy planning your next holiday, with his favourite little teddy never far away. 🐶

He may not know much about flights, hotels or itineraries, but he’s an expert at supervising my work, demanding attention and making sure I give him lots of snuggles! 😉

With his teddy by his side and the world map behind him, I think he’s quite happy in his little corner of the office. 🌏

My Travel Tips! ✈️

Planning your next holiday? Here are a few of my favourite tips to help you get the most out of your travels!

1️⃣ Don’t rush your holiday
It can be tempting to pack as much as possible into one trip, but slow down and enjoy it! Travel can be tiring, especially when you’re constantly moving from place to place. Where possible, I love recommending 2–3 night stays minimum so you have time to settle in, explore at your own pace and actually enjoy the experience !

2️⃣ Get travel insurance
This one is a must! You never know when something unexpected might happen, and dealing with illness, cancellations, lost luggage or other emergencies overseas can be incredibly stressful and expensive. Good travel insurance gives you that extra peace of mind.

3️⃣ Book in advance
Planning ahead can make such a difference! Booking early can give you access to better prices and more choice, while also helping to secure the accommodation, flights, tours and experiences you really want.

4️⃣ Check the weather before you go 🌧️
Always check the weather and seasonal conditions at your destination. There’s nothing worse than arriving somewhere expecting sunshine and discovering you’ve booked during monsoon season! Knowing what to expect helps you pack properly and plan your activities.

Meet the person behind your future holidays ✈️🌏

If you’ve ever dreamed of a holiday but don’t quite know where to start, let me introduce myself for those I haven’t met yet..

I’m Kirsty, a Travel Advisor with over 28 years of experience in the travel industry, based right here in beautiful Merimbula !

Travel has always been a passion of mine. I loved geography at school, always wanted to discover more of the world, and I genuinely believe there’s no better feeling than having a holiday to look forward to!

These days, I get to turn that passion into my job — helping people plan their own adventures, from the big dream trip to the much-needed getaway.

My favourite part? The planning, the people and hearing the stories when my clients return home. There’s nothing better than seeing someone’s excitement when their travel plans start coming together. ✨

After 28 years, I’ve travelled to some incredible places, but Switzerland holds a special place in my heart. And one destination I could happily return to again and again? Vietnam. 🇻🇳

My own bucket list is still very much alive though… an Arctic expedition cruise, Antarctica, Africa and Albania are just a few still waiting for me!

When I’m not planning holidays, you’ll usually find me enjoying Merimbula with family, friends, a coffee and, of course, Louie — my very dedicated (and slightly demanding) home-office assistant. 🐾

My home office looks out over the lake, which isn’t a bad place to spend the day dreaming up someone’s next adventure!

Checked into The Sunday’s Boutique Hotel. A new property that opened in August 2025. Caters for couples, honeymooners & families. A beautiful temperature of 23 degrees both in & out of the water. Time to go explore!! 🏝️😎
