I’ve been doing a bit of a slow “getting ready for winter” sort-through over the past little while.

Nothing dramatic — just pulling things out as I go.

Winter PJs were first (mine are basically layers on layers), then trackies, scarves, and those in-between pieces like windcheaters.

I’ve even bought a few new pairs of trackies recently once I realised what I actually had and what I was missing.

I’ve been sorting everything into boxes for now while I figure out a better system for my wardrobe long-term. I’m not quite set up properly yet because I still need to paint it, so I’m working around that.

But I’ve realised I feel a lot better when I actually know what I’ve got for the season — especially the stuff I wear most at home.

Am I the only one slowly organising my way into the colder months with a bit of a winter stocktake? 😄

Part 1. Jacket shopping

Taking clothes with you when you’re shopping for a specific item can help you make better choices, save money, and save you having to return as well as wardrobe space of clothes you don’t wear because they don’t go with your other clothes.

I knew I loved this jacket (I’ll show it in later vids, I promise!) but wanted to make sure that it can go with the clothes I already have, so I took some dresses with me. Makes sense to me.

Smart Shopping is where I share the practical tips, thought processes, and real-life strategies I use when shopping for clothes.

From testing whether a jacket will actually work with your existing wardrobe, to avoiding purchases that look great in the shop but never get worn, these videos are about thinking beyond the hanger.

My approach is simple: buy with intention, think about real life, and make choices you'll still be happy with long after you've left the shop.

Whether you're shopping retail, op shopping, or simply trying to make better use of your wardrobe, you'll find practical ideas to help you shop more confidently and with less guesswork.

I'm sometimes asked why I focus on single women. It's because I relate to them and I see them and they deserve all the good things as much as anyone.

There are plenty of businesses supporting women, and that's a wonderful thing.

But single women often seem to fall through the cracks, even within those businesses.

It's not because they aren't capable or because they aren't doing well.

Often, it's because their lives look different, and they're not actually seen. They're overlooked.

Ah hellooo, not on my watch!

Many single women spend years looking after other people, supporting family, helping friends, volunteering, giving their time, energy and attention to everyone else.

Then one day they realise nobody is doing those things for them.

They're the ones organising their lives, solving their own problems, making do, making their own plans, and picking themselves up when things don't go to plan.

I know because I've lived it too.

And while I welcome women from all walks of life to many of my events and activities, single women are the group I choose to prioritise.

I want single women to feel seen, and to know that their lives matter now, not someday, not as the best friend, or support act.

THEM. THEIR LIFE.

They deserve friendship, fun, support, confidence, growth, adventure and new experiences, regardless of the absence of a partner.

That's why so much of what I do is with single women in mind.

Whether that's through an outing, a workshop, a conversation, or one-to-one support, my goal is always the same:

I help single women respark their lives- because wanting more from your life is perfectly reasonable, and it shouldn’t feel like such a struggle to get there.

✨ This Saturday: Singles Long Lunch ✨

A little reminder that our Singles Long Lunch is happening this Saturday in Melbourne 💕

If you've been thinking about coming along but haven't quite decided yet, this is your sign.

We'll be spending the afternoon getting to know each other, sharing some good conversation, and connecting with other women who understand the ups and downs, freedoms and challenges of single life.

Whether you're newly single, long-time single, loving it, hating it, dating, not dating, or somewhere in between, you're very welcome.

Several lovely women have already RSVP'd, and I'd love to meet a few more of you.

You can find all the details and RSVP in the event below 👇

I run these women’s outings as part of my work supporting women who want more connection, confidence, fun, and a chance to respark their lives. If that's you, I hope to see you on Saturday. ❤🩷

I've never painted a wall in this house before, so this feels surprisingly bold.

I'd genuinely love your opinions on this one.

If this was your bathroom, would you paint 1 wall, 2 walls, or all 4?

And bonus points if you think you can guess the colour I've chosen 🎨

Looking at me, it’s easy to see the dresses, pink, dancing, outings, fun etc and assume that’s me 😂✨

But my work days can look very different, and involve trackies and runners, supporting clients through physio sessions at the gym.

Over four decades of working in many varied environments, with lots of different people, I’ve gained oodles of experience I can draw on and apply to all sorts of situations.

I’ve learnt how important it is to help people feel comfortable and supported in whatever they’re facing. Add in my personal training stint, and I can drive clients to the gym. There, I encourage, make her laugh while she exercises, and chat away so the time passes quicker and the session feels less overwhelming.

And yes… I do own clothes which aren’t dresses 😂
Though admittedly, they’re probably still pink.

After the conversations happening on this page this week about doing life solo, this feels like good timing to announce ❤️

Sometimes you really do just want people to have lunch with and talk to for a few hours.

My next Singles Long Lunch is coming up on the long weekend, and I’d love to welcome some new women along.

Details are in the event link in the comments and pinned above 💕

I’ve had tradies at my house recently and, as a woman living alone, it brought up way so much anxiety.

The jobs themselves had been sitting there for a long time.

The reason was mostly financial — I’ve been working really hard over the last few years to improve my situation, which is why I'm now tackling some of them.

But also… all the other stuff underneath felt sooo huge.

The thought of having strangers in the house.
Working out which tradie to trust.
Learning how to communicate properly with tradies.
Trying to explain problems when I didn’t fully understand them myself.
Figuring out how to feel safe while having strangers in my home.
Managing my anxiety while still functioning like a normal person- or attempting to appear that way, anyway.

So while I was trying to rebuild my finances and improve my life, I was also slowly trying to build the capacity to handle all of this too.

And I think that’s the part people don’t really see when they look at single women like me.

It's not just the repairs themselves — but the mental work that goes into finally being able to face the repairs.

Because once you start dealing with the first thing, you realise it’s really just the beginning.

There are still more jobs to organise.
More tradies to deal with. More quotes to get.
Yet more decisions to make.
And, learning as I go.

But I’ve started. This is the face of a woman who just got one big repair done.

And sometimes that first step takes us women years longer than we wanted it to.

Sometimes, all you need is a little company, maybe some chatter about other things, to get your jobs done. Or, you need help to get through it, some strategy, permission to pause.

That’s where I come in. 🙋‍♀️
In person, or remotely.
