If you’re on a Training visa (subclass 407) and wondering about PR… this is important to understand.
The 407 visa is designed for training, not permanent migration. So it does not lead directly to PR, and time spent on this visa usually doesn’t count toward employer-sponsored permanent residency.
Most people need to move to another visa first, such as:
➡️ Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482)
➡️ Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (subclass 494)
Then PR may become possible through:
➡️ Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186)
➡️ Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191)
Think of the 407 as a stepping stone, not the destination. Planning your next visa early can make a big difference to your PR timeline.
