It's been a great week here at ARGUS Tourism 😊🀩

We celebrated a special milestone πŸ₯³ A box of visitor products created by ARGUS Tourism arrived at a Heritage Rail Museum, in a small Riverina town over 500km's away πŸš‚πŸ›πŸ€©
What began with a visit, a camera and a conversation - has resulted in a collection of souvenirs and activities created specifically for the Museum and its visitors.

But this is about much more than just making and selling souvenirs...........
ARGUS Tourism was created around a passion and belief that our museums, heritage sites and regional communities deserve to be visited, supported and remembered - Tourism products can help tell their individual stories rather than simply putting another generic, mass produced, imported souvenir on a shelf.

A huge thank you to Junee Roundhouse Railway Museum for giving a new Australian small Tourism business an opportunity and trusting ARGUS to be a part of their story. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ€πŸ˜

***Devastating News**
Another Australian Heritage Site at risk πŸ’”β˜ΉοΈ - head over to Aradale Ghost Tours - Ararat Lunatic Asylum and show your support

A major tourism drawcard in a west Victorian town has been suddenly shuttered, jeopardising local businesses and the livelihoods of more than a dozen workers who have spent years keeping the historic site open.

~ ELIZABETH BAY HOUSE - SYDNEY-NSW ~

Tucked away among the busy streets and apartments of modern Sydney sits an extraordinary reminder of a time long ago.........

πŸ› ELIZABETH BAY HOUSE - 1839 ~ "the finest house in the colony"

Constructed in 1839 for Colonial Secretary Alexander Macleay and his family it is an elegant time piece of Sydney's past.

It's views of the harbour, sweeping staircase and grand architecture tell the story of wealth and ambition in Colonial Sydney and when you step inside it isn't hard to imagine why it was named "the finest house in the colony"

Unfortunately, the Macleay Family's grand lifestyle eventually collided with financial difficulties, and the enormous estate was subdivided as Sydney grew around it.

Today, Elizabeth Bay House stands almost hidden within the city that developed beyond its doors.

Places like Elizabeth Bay House allow us to walk through rooms where people lived almost two centuries ago, notice the craftsmanship that survived, learn the stories of the people who live there, and better understand just how Sydney became the city we all know today.

Sometimes the most amazing stories are hiding in plain sight!
