Caravan life in Busselton, WA 🚐🌊
📍Stayed at Discovery Parks Busselton — a tight squeeze getting in, but a cracking location with the park backing onto the beach.
Walked the iconic Busselton Jetty (1.841km — the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere) and finished it off with the underwater ocean aquarium at the end. Worth every step.
Note: you can pay to catch the jetty train if the walk is too much but I was walking to earn my lunch 🤣.

📍Alexandra Bridge WA — great little spot, would happily stay again 👍
Visited Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia.
Definitely worth the visit and the tour was great....…but climbing 176 stairs was a very personal reminder that fitness is, in fact, optional until it suddenly isn’t 😅💪

NYE in Perth… No big plans because our four-legged travel manager says fireworks are a hard no 🐶💥
Quiet night, full hearts and yummy food with a few drinks 🍾!
Wishing you all a 2026 full of amazing adventures and continue making memories.

📍Kalgoorlie
October 20th - 25th 2025

6 nights in Kalgoorlie and we loved it. We were not sure what to expect but wow.
The first 3 nights were very convenient, in town free camp – honestly, well done Kalgoorlie… clean, spacious, with water and a dump point✔️
Next 3 nights spent mooching off my cousin (family perks 😄)
A really clean town with stunning old buildings, an old two-up building full of history, epic sunsets and we did the must-see visit to the Super Pit.

🌟 HIGHLIGHT
Hammond Park, an oasis in the outback environment...... lush green grass, beautiful gardens, birds everywhere, plus emus and kangaroos just cruising around. A real credit to Lisa, who oversees it.

Marty, Daisy and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas from Perth 🎄
40°C means Christmas is being celebrated entirely indoors with occasional door openings for “heat checks”. But we have the essentials ready - prawns, ham and wine 😁
Where are you spending the day?

Crossing the Nullarbor: Ceduna to Norseman — The Long, The Straight & The Surprisingly Charming.

There’s something iconic about crossing the Nullarbor. It’s one of those Aussie road trips people talk about like a badge of honour — long, remote, a bit weird, and absolutely worth doing at least once. So off we went from Ceduna to Norseman, ready for wildlife encounters, big scenery and a feeling of excitement.

It started with a few days in Ceduna before spending 3 nights crossing and regrouping in Norseman at the other end.

We hoped for more wildlife but got some lizards, a dingo and lots of March flies.

Fuel stops are plenty but water is not. The road trains are on a mission and the UHF radio got a good workout letting them know we would slow down so they could pass - they are on a time crunch and we are not!

Recommend a visit to Head of Bight and this is also a free camp.

We expected more remoteness, less trees and a greater feeling of Isolation but that wasn't what we got, but what we got was amazing memories.

🚐 Elliston → Talia Caves Campground 🌊

We based ourselves just outside Elliston at Nationdale Bush Camp for 2 nights — a brilliant private property stay with plenty of space. Definitely 4WD recommended though due to the driveways big potholes… those roads keep you honest! 😅 Stunning views, but the flies definitely outnumbered us.($10 a night)

The town of Elliston itself is tiny but worth a wander — the Clifftop Drive is a must-do. The coastline views are the kind that make you pull over every five minutes just to say “wow” again.

Then on to Talia Caves Campground ($10 a night) for a couple of nights — and honestly, what a gem 💎 Quiet, rugged, and right on the water with those epic cave formations. Perfect spot to slow down, breathe it in, and remind yourself why you’re caravanning around Australia in the first place.

🐾 Daisy gave it a paws-up too (after chasing & eating a few too many flies).

📌Port Lincoln didn’t disappoint!
(27Sept - 2nd October)

Birthday celebrations, waterfront walks, a haircut, and a massage – I’m living my best caravan life 💅
Daisy’s highlight - Staring down pelicans that were a lot bigger then her.
Marty surprising me with a very swanky dinner at a gorgeous winery.
Beautiful town, amazing views, and the perfect spot to celebrate our caravaning adventure and my birthday . 🌊🎉

We saw out the last two weeks of September cruising from the Barossa Valley (Tanunda), through Adelaide for a lovely catch up with a good friend and onto Port Lincoln — with stops in Port Augusta, Quorn, and the gorgeous little coastal town of Arno Bay. Each stop had its own charm — from outback history to seaside beauty. The water views along the way were absolutely stunning — the kind that make you slow down, grab a coffee, and just breathe it all in. ☀️🚐🐾
* Next post will be solely dedicated to Port Lincoln 😁

Mid-September fun! Our son, Tasman flew down to Adelaide from the Gold Coast to celebrate his 19th birthday with us for a few days... so off to Hahndorf we went. 😄

Loved this charming little town — great food at the German Arms and interesting and quirky shops, and one of the cleanest caravan parks we’ve stayed in!

Birthday highlight: Monarto Safari Park 🦏 where we surprised Tas with an up-close White Rhino encounter. Experiencing this and all the other animals - Absolutely incredible.

OMG 50 🫣
Yesterday, one third of the Outta Range around Oz trio , Nicole, celebrated hitting the big 5-0. Feeling so lucky to have done this while travelling in the beautiful state of South Australia. Although fortunate to be living the dream of trekking around this beautiful country, I also got the special surprise of feeding penguins, and being pampered 🐧🩷
Turns out 50 isn’t so scary when it comes with adventures and wine.🍷🚐
