Brisbane LinehaulFollowmont Transport Pty Ltd was established in 1983 by Alan Salpietro & Bernie Tobin, starting out in a small office in Stones Corner, Brisbane. Over the years continued growth has necessitated moving to new premises, culminating in April 2009 with a move to our new 4ha corporate head office facility at Eagle Farm. Initially founded as a company specializing in the delivery of Ma
gazines, Newspapers and printed materials in Queensland, Alan and Bernie soon diversified into General Freight. It was not long before the Pharmaceutical and many other industries recognized the benefits of the Express Road Freight Service offered by Followmont, sparking a surge in growth that is still continuing. Today Followmont has nearly 500 employees and runs a fleet of more than 380 vehicles throughout Queensland. Our growth has resulted in the opening of five new Followmont owned depots in the past two years, taking us to 14 Company owned depots. Followmont is now the largest independently owned Transport Company in Queensland, and is the preferred Queensland carrier for many national companies and other transport businesses. In combination with a well established network of local Agents, many of whom have been with us exclusively for nearly twenty years; our Company Depots provide an infrastructure that is unique within the Transport Industry in Queensland. With shuttles running nightly between our depots, and an extensive linehaul operation, we are ideally positioned to meet the express freight needs of all our customers. To continue with that same philosophy their sons, Anthony Salpietro and Mark Tobin have acquired a share in the business, providing succession and continuity to Followmont's success and future growth. Today our four directors continue with the hands on approach to running the business that has been so integral to our success.
