Standing at the edge of the Gordon Dam today… and it never gets old.

At 140 metres high, it’s one of those places that really makes you pause. The sheer scale, the quiet, and the wild southwest stretching out in every direction—it’s something you feel as much as you see.

It’s not just about the dam itself, but the journey out there. Remote, rugged, and a reminder of just how untouched parts of Tasmania still are.

If you ever get the chance, take the drive, take your time, and just soak it in.

A stop at Ashgrove Cheese is always a highlight when travelling through Tasmania’s north.

There’s something special about seeing a working dairy farm and then tasting the cheese just metres from where it’s made. From creamy cheddars to their award-winning varieties, it’s one of those places where you always end up leaving with more than you planned 😄

The setting itself is part of the experience too — green paddocks, fresh country air, and that real connection to local produce that Tasmania does so well.

At eGuide, we love including Ashgrove as part of our tours through the region. It’s a perfect stop to stretch the legs, enjoy something delicious, and give guests a genuine taste of Tasmania.

If you’re heading along the north west or travelling between Launceston and Devonport, it’s well worth a visit.

Bruny Island is one of Tasmania’s must-see destinations. Just a short ferry ride from the mainland, it feels like stepping into another world — wild coastlines, sweeping beaches, and forests alive with wildlife, including the rare white wallaby.

Take in the panoramic views from The Neck Lookout, explore rugged sea cliffs by cruise, and taste your way through some of Tasmania’s best produce — oysters, cheese, berries, and whisky.

Whether you visit for the scenery, the food, or the sense of escape, Bruny Island is a place that stays with you long after you leave.

The Overland Track — six days, 65km, and some of the most breathtaking wilderness you’ll ever set foot in.

It begins at Cradle Mountain, where alpine peaks rise above glacial lakes, and ends at the deep, still waters of Lake St Clair. Along the way, you’ll walk through mossy rainforests, past roaring waterfalls, and across alpine plains where wombats graze at sunset.

But before you take that first step, there’s one question every hiker faces: how do I get there and back?

That’s where we come in. Our Overland Track Shuttle takes care of the journey, so you can focus on the adventure. We’ll get you from Launceston to Cradle Mountain to start your trek, and from Lake St Clair back to Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport when you finish. We even offer free bag storage for return bookings and free gas with our early bird deal.

Because your trip should be about the trail, not the transport.
