Transport Women Australia Limited was formed in 1999 by an enthusiastic group of women involved in various capacities in the Road Transport Industry. These women shared a common view that women in all modes of the transport industry could benefit from a national independent organisation that focused on the support of women and the concept of dealing with industry issues from the perspective of women.

The organisation is now the leading group representing women in the transport industry and has formed relationships with many other like minded groups on both a National and International level.

Our members are from a diverse range of backgrounds and cover all modes of transport – road, rail, maritime and air.

We have acheived quite a lot since our formation, from providing scholarships for industry entrants to conducting industry research about social and economic viability.

2009 Victorian Bushfires

In 2009, John Ryan Freight Services answered the call by organising and collecting donations for the people of Victoria who were affected by the Bushfires. Weeks were spent receiving donations, sorting, palletising and finally sending a full B Double straight to the town of Callignee in Victoria where many homes were destoyed.

B105 Special Childrens Christmas Party

The aim is to provide in excess of 3,000 children with a day they will never forget. The children come from four major groups: Terminally ill, intellectually impaired, physically impaired and also the underprivileged who may be suffering from domestic violence or physical abuse. Children arrive from all over South East Queensland, from as far north as Maryborough, west to Roma and south to Tweed Heads. John Ryan Freight Services has been a proud sponsor of this annual event for the past 15 years.
