I have been travelling for most of my life and have been incredibly fortunate to have visited seventy-five countries (so far). I believe in exploring this amazing world, sharing experiences and making connections is what it is all about. I have organised all sorts of holidays to all sorts of destinations, whether it be luxury, adventure, experiential, re-connection, relaxation, or a mixture of all of the above! Day 4 and our last day in was yet another stellar experience, honestly if this country is not on your travel horizon then it needs to be added - GREITAI!!!

This morning after our final breakfast (where there may, or may not, have been a farewell Crémant 😉) and it was bags in the bus and onto a very sobering visit of the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights (also known as the KGB Museum)

The guide was part of Lithuania’s occupied history and was incredibly transparent about the his experience. It was a very emotional visit for us all but an important one nonetheless.

We then headed out of Vilnius to and learn about the history of the Karaite settlement in Lithuania from the 14th century. After a fabulous lunch of traditional Kybyn (moon shaped mutton filled deliciousness) washed down with some Karaimų trauktinė - a traditional digestive that definitely puts “hairs on your chest” 😂 we walked over to .castle

Reconstructed and restored from it’s 14th century origins, it is now part of the Trakai History Museum and is lovely to wander around. Then we climbed into a boat to take us across the lake (a very popular spot for rowing apparently) to
Once home to the Count Józef Tyszkiewicz and his wife the house, and the stunning gardens that surround it, are a very popular location for weddings - and I can understand why, they are just beautiful 🤩

Then it was back onboard and a sad farewell to Vilnius and Lithuania 🇱🇹
