The Honourable Minister of Communication and Digital Economy of The Gambia today held a bilateral meeting with his Ugandan counterpart to strengthen cooperation in the postal sector.
The discussions focused on partnership as a catalyst for institutional growth and modernization. A key outcome of the meeting was Uganda’s commitment to work closely with The Gambia’s regulator, PURA, in sharing experience on postal regulation. Both sides also agreed to deepen collaboration in the development of postal services, with a view to improving service delivery, expanding digital solutions, and enhancing operational efficiency.
The Honourable Minister emphasized that cooperation of this kind is vital in building resilient institutions, fostering innovation, and ensuring that postal services adapt to the demands of the digital age.
This engagement underscores The Gambia’s commitment to meaningful partnerships within Africa and reaffirms the importance of South–South cooperation in advancing postal service development and sustainable growth across the continent.
