Each of these engineering businesses has established capabilities in marine repair, ship-building, and both onshore and offshore fabrication. In addition, they boast strong reputations in their local (UAE) marke...ts, and are expanding into the Caspian and wider Arabian Gulf regions. Adyard, operating from its 200,000m2 facility in Abu Dhabi provides total engineering solutions to the oil and gas sector. From design engineering, fabrication installation and start-up, to operations and maintenance, Adyard’s offshore and onshore engineering capabilities are numerous. These include process modules and skids, pressure vessels, fabrication of heavy structures, rig refurbishment, site construction, maintenance services and project management. Adyard has further developed its capabilities in executing technically sophisticated oil and gas projects involving modules for FPSOs, LNG loading modules and jackets/ topsides, among others. Adyard is ISO 9001:2000 certified as well as ASME – U, U2, S, PP and R, and API 2B. Nico International, with operations in Dubai, Fujairah, Salalah, Bautino and Baku, is recognised as the regional leader in ship repair services. Its capabilities include major conversion and refurbishment work, engine reconditioning, turbocharger overhaul, boiler services (through a joint venture with Doosan Babcock), automation and instrumentation, fuel injection services, transmission and marine gearbox overhauls. In addition, Nico builds specialised aluminium and steel catamaran and mono-hull vessels catering to the growing offshore vessel market in the GCC and the Caspian. Nico is ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified, which has contributed to its longevity in a competitive environment and its customer complaint frequency remaining below one percent.
